Google Workspace Price Increases & New Payment Options

Last month, Google announced pricing updates and more flexible payment options for Google Workspace. “Today, we’re announcing a few updates to our pricing to reflect the value in our products, alongside expanded commitment options to lock in the lowest pricing, providing our customers with more choice,” penned Steve Holt, Google Workspace VP of Strategy in a February press release. The Google announcement references the hundreds of new tools and product features that have been released over the past few years, increasing the power, reliability, and security of the Google Workspace product suite. 

These changes come within weeks of Microsoft announcing it would be taking steps to align the pricing of Microsoft Cloud products globally, Zoom raising the price of Zoom One Pro licensing by $1, and on the heels of late 2022 increases to Google Cloud Storage rates.

Highlights of the Google Workspace price changes

New Flex Plan Pricing

“Flex” plans offer customers the option to pay as they go for with no commitment. This means that customers can add or delete licenses at any time.

• Business Starter: Increasing from $6 user/month to $7.20 user/month.
• Business Standard: Increasing from $12 user/month to $14.40 user/month
• Business Plus: Increasing from $18user/month to $21.60 user/month

New Annual Commit Pricing

New annual commitment (monthly payment) prices mirror the old Flex prices

• Business Starter: $6 user/month
• Business Standard: $12 user/month
• Business Plus: $18 user/month

Google Workspace Enterprise Standard

Google will be increasing the price of Google Workspace Enterprise Standard to reflect the additional value that has been added to this edition. The new price is TBA; however, the new price will start rolling out in April.

Local Currency Pricing

Google will adjust some local currency pricing to maintain alignment with the exchange rates to the U.S. dollar (USD).
